New plans have been put in place by the government to safeguard jobs during the recession. It has recently been announced that the government are planning to pay employers up the amount of £2,500 for every unemployed person they recruit.

It was during the government’s job summit that the plans were announced and advice and guidance on how to deal with the increasing unemployment was offered.

Unemployment now stands at 1.8 million and it looks like this figure is set to rise with Marks and Spencer’s and Dell making redundancies.

Help does seem to be at hand though, the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills and the Department of Work and Pensions are investing £500million over two years to help the people who have been out of work for over 6 months.

A spokesman for Work and Pensions has said:

“There are still over half a million jobs available, and employers are still recruiting - we will do everything we can to get people into those jobs. Our message is simple, the longer a person is out of work the harder we will work for them”.

Avon are recruiting new door to door sales assistants by promoting financial independence during the struggling economic turn down.

The campaign is aimed at women who want to earn some extra money during a increasingly difficult financial period.

Anna Segatti, President of Avon UK said: With this new campaign we want to spread the message that, unlike with some other enterprises, starting up your own direct selling business offers great earnings potential, balanced against a very low start up cost.

Angie Winter, from Cambridgeshire, who appears in the adverts, has been an Avon Representative for five years. said: “Before working with Avon, many of my new recruits were finding it difficult to pay their bills but they’ve found that working with Avon allows them to really increase their income, while fitting their hours around family or other interests.”

Selling Avon products could be a opportunity if you want to work from home, and choose the hours that suit you. You can sell to your friends and family, have a allocated territory and even have people working for you.

Gordon Brown today has pledged to create 100,000 new jobs to help combat the rising numbers of people unemployed. The numbers are set to rise again as we start 2009 and it is not looking any brighter.

The prime minister has said the majority of new jobs will be found in technology and green industries as well as the public sector.

During the interview he said,

“I want to show how we will be able, through public investments and public works, to create probably 100,000 additional jobs over the next period of time in our capital investment programme, through schools, hospitals, environmental work and infrastructure transport. We are not going to standby and allow nothing to be done whilst people are facing difficulties”.

This has left alot of people wondering what the plan actually is? and when are these plans supoposed to be taking place?

It was only last month that the PM delayed the new aircraft carriers being bulit as the government has run out of money? If they have run out of money how are they planning to create 100,000 jobs?

We can just keep guessing i suppose???
